Summer Activity Schedules
Classes will start Monday June 22. There will be weekly sessions through the week of August 17.
REGISTRATION OPENS THURSDAY JUNE 11 -- FAMILIES WITH CREDITS FROM WINTER PROGRAMS SHOULD CALL THE CLUB TO APPLY THOSE CREDITS TO SUMMER PROGRAMS AND RECEIVE THE LOYALTY DISCOUNT.
We will offer tennis drills, competitive point play and tennis fitness tailored for the player's age and ability. Using fast paced drills designed to keep kids moving and apart, our tennis program is a great way for your child to develop as a tennis player. In this COVID-19 age, all drills have been modified for social distancing.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, your child will be placed in a group of no more than 10 (including coaches). Groups will have staggered arrival and departure times. Each group will be kept separate from the other groups. Each group will have a separate shaded area for resting. Groups will have separate times for bathroom breaks and the bathrooms will be disinfected between group visits. Players cannot enter the clubhouse, except during designated bathroom breaks. No drinks will be sold. We cannot offer loaner rackets, so each player should be sure to bring their own.
There may be weather cancellations, as we have no indoor facilities this year, but we will schedule make-ups.
PLAYERS MUST BRING THEIR OWN WATER, as we cannot offer water fountains.
MORNING TENNIS AGES 6 -11 -- Three and a half hours starting at 8:30 with staggered arrival. $280 per week.
AFTERNOON TENNIS CAMP AGES 12 - 16 -- Three hours starting at 1 with staggered arrival times. $240 per week.
WHAT IS THE STUDENT TO PRO/ASSISTANT RATIO?
We make every effort to keep a small ratio of 5. Our observation of COVID-19 restrictions means that a group of ten players and coaches together form a squad that will interact only with each other during the day.
WHAT EQUIPMENT DOES MY CHILD NEED?
Players should bring a tennis racket, water bottle, snacks, a hat, and sunscreen. Campers should wear appropriately soled shoes for tennis play. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no water fountains on the courts.
WHERE DOES MY CHILD GET DROPPED OFF AND PICKED UP?
Players will be dropped off behind the tennis courts -- please obey all signs.
An instructor will take and record all players' temperatures before allowing them to join the group.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, parents may not leave their cars.
CAN I ESCORT MY CHILD TO CLASS AND STAY TO WATCH?
The school has required us to restrict access to the campus to tennis players only. Your child will be met in the parking lot by a coach and escorted to the courts. We are sorry, but we cannot allow observers in the club. Please remain in your car at all times. If you want to wait for a few minutes to make sure your child is comfortable, you will be able to see the courts from the parking lot.
WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?
Class will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather. We will do our best to arrange make-ups. Please monitor the weather and your email as well. If we expect an afternoon storm to disrupt class, we may contact you for an early pickup.
DOES MY CHILD NEED TO BRING A SNACK?
Players may bring snacks.
CAN MY CHILD BE IN THE SAME GROUP AS A FRIEND OR SIBLING?
We will try to accommodate these requests, but given COVID-19 restrictions and our efforts to group children of the same age and skill set, we cannot guarantee them. Please make a request by email to our camp directors, Anthony Kountouris or Eric Doidge.
WHAT IS YOUR SUNSCREEN POLICY?
Staff and personnel will not apply sunscreen to our campers. Parents are encouraged to apply sunscreen prior to the child's arrival the player is allowed to re-apply his/her own sunscreen, if necessary, during the class. Sunscreen labeled with the player's name is to be kept in the player's backpack. Sunscreen may not be applied by other children.
